Dax and I had lunch with a pastor/leader of the Lutheran church and his wife, from St. Paul MN, on Saturday. They were the sweetest people. He was in town to preach at a church in Hagerstown on Sunday... and we met them to get to know them prior to the meeting that Dax has with them in Dec. It was really nice. After church on Sunday, they invited us to lunch again... and we really got down to business... disecting all that the denomination believes and requires. It is amazing how much in line with Dax and my beliefs this denomination is. We are very excited that we have found a place to be ordained. It is almost too good to be true in some respects.
We came home and I went hiking with JP and Wrigley... and didn't get home any time soon. I had a good time hanging with JP who is dating a new guy that we are all hoping sticks (keeps fingers crossed).
When I got home ... I showered quickly and went to dinner with our second cousin (on Dax's side) Olivia. She is a really cool girl and we had been meaning to go out with her for the longest time by ourselves. She always comes along with Dax's mom. It was good for us to talk. She asked us a lot of questions about marriage, and told us her story. We have tried to set her up with people in the past, and she has kindof resisted... and we didn't know why. She is a very attractive girl, and we didn't know what he story was. She was sooo open and honest with us. I felt very honored that she would share the things she did with us. We were very honest about marriage too.. the good, the bad and the ugly. I think she appreciated it. We also got to talking about homosexuality which was a very interesting conversation with her. ... interesting indeed.
So, overall, a very rich weekend with new friends, old friends, my hubby, fun family... and the pooch!!! Couldn't ask for more.
